How to cope with the Corona crisis during this enterprise project

Since the Corona virus spread around the world it has been affecting our company Frostbit. First of all we had some difficulties with the supplier since it is located in China… Either we had to wait for them to be able to start working again and process our order or we could look for another supplier that offered the same or similar products. We decided to choose for the second option and look for a new supplier. The search was successful and we found a supplier in Germany. The contact between the supplier and our purchase manager was and still is very good; we made clear agreements and agreed upon the same terms. This is one example that we did not sit still and wait for the Corona crisis to solve itself, we decided to make a plan B which turned out to be a very good choice in the end.

The Corona crisis is affecting this company in other ways as well; we are not allowed to go to school to have internal meetings nor attending the weekly tutor meetings. Our school and the Frostbit team are making sure this doesn’t disturb our routine or motivation to sell the product. Hogeschool Rotterdam offers a program which allows us to continue have meetings with the team and with our tutor. During those meetings we make sure everybody is keeping up with our internal schedule and everybody knows what to do for the upcoming days/weeks.

Now that we can’t advertise at school, on the streets or at the student fair at Kralingse zoom we have to think of other ways to sell our product. Because of this situation we are missing out on some great opportunities to create awareness and sell our product. Plans like hanging up our ordered posters at the Hogeschool Rotterdam won’t be as effective since there is no one walking around in school. We agreed on mainly focusing on online advertising and create awareness among our target group. We do that by remaining active on our social media accounts and referring to our website where people can place their order. Another idea we agreed upon doing is buying ads on Instagram, this will make sure our Frostbit page will appear on people’s timeline as an ad. This might create a bigger awareness among the people we cannot reach out to physically.

Every month we send out our monthly newsletter to our highly appreciated shareholders to keep them up to date. We let them know how the business is doing nowadays and inform them about things they should know, like the launch of our website, how many products we already sold and what our plans for the next few weeks are.

During this period we will continue having the online meetings, continue to make internal agreements and keep each other up to date about our personal progress and let the shareholders and customers up to date about our progress as a company.

Good job adjusting to the situation, it’s hard on everyone. It’s nice to see you’re working hard to get by.
